The corona crisis has created unprecedented demand for Berkey systems and subsequently a shortage has arisen. The manufacturer is now working overtime to restore Berkey supply and we expect to have new Berkey stock within the forseeable future. Please check the site from time to time to see when the "out of stock" notices have been removed or send us an email specifying the Berkey model you want and we will notify you when it is back in stock. In the meantime the Black Berkey filters and PF-2 filters are available. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to serving you in the near future.

The scratch and dent Travel Berkey comes standard with two new Black Berkey water filters. The stainless steel containers are in usable condition and all damage or blemishes are cosmetic only. The damaged containers usually have scratches, shipping abrasion or dents, this does not affect the performance of the water filter in any way. These systems carry the full manufacturer warranty for materials and workmanship defects, but cannot be returned or exchanged for cosmetic or any other reason beyond that.

The scatch and dent Travel Berkey water filter system may also be ordered with your choice of one discounted Berkey accessory. For a description of the various Berkey accessories see: Sightglass SpigotPF-2 Fluoride/Arsenic FiltersBerkey Replacement PartsBerkey Stand or Berkey Primer.

The PF-2 fluoride filters can be attached to the Black Berkey filters for the removal of fluoride. The water in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is not artificially fluoridated. However artificial fluoridation is being applied in some parts of England by local water authorities. The two following links show where artificial fluoridation / high natural fluoride levels are present. The first pdf map shows fluoride levels in England and Wales . The second pdf map gives a county by county breakdown of where fluoridation/high fluoride is to be found in England.

*Flow rates are calculated with upper chamber full to top. The flow rate decreases as the water level declines. As it is impractical to keep the upper chamber completely full at all times, the flow rates are in practice less than the stated optimal rate.
